President Barack Obama Masters The New Online Media

Blog

All presidents are a product of their time and to communicate using the means of their time. In the days before microphones and amplifiers, Abraham Lincoln spoke of small groups gathered on the battlefield. Consequently, the power and clarity of his words survive despite the lack of video clips, podcasts, CD or DVD to give Lincoln his speeches. Instead, we read engraved on stone monuments and courts. He knew, however, that the rest of America would read his words in newspapers, and wrote his speeches, not for the ear, but also to hear the reading of the eyes.
